Mr. Collins is a humorous character but is every woman's nightmare; a man who does not understand "no". Even after Elizabeth bluntly rejects him multiple times, he continues to list unconvincing reasons of why she should accept his proposal. It is almost Jane Austen's warning to women against men like Mr. Collins.

Essay Comments

The essay comments were very helpful and constructive and I plan on doing a rewrite very soon. I definitely appreciate the criticism because of my writing problems. I know I have issues with organization and finding a topic to write abut. I will try to improve my writing to the best of my ability. I really want to be able to write at a college level.

Most Important Part of an Essay

I think that the most important part of writing an essay is the thesis. The thesis organizes the entire essay and provides an outline of information which can be easily expanded on by the writer. Without a good thesis, the essay has no spine and nothing to build on. The best thesis I have read is from essay B.

Sample Student Essays

I read essays A, B and Z. I enjoyed essay B more than A and Z because essay A had a very limiting thesis and essay B had a very deep, thoughtful essay topic which made the essay more interesting. The organization makes it easy to read and understand. The paragraphs were fully developed and I really enjoyed reading it.
